Qualifications for Final Meets of the Season
The Finals: April 23 at NPHS.
The finals are open to everyone. To participate in an event in the finals the athlete needs to:
1) have participated in that event at least once during the regular season. Except for relays, an athlete need not have competed in a relay during the season to compete in a relay at conference finals.
2) have NOT qualified for that event in the championships. If a kid qualifies for an event at the championships they can NOT participate in that event at the finals.
The same event limit applies at the conference finals: maximum of 4 events, a maximum of 3 running events and 4x400 is free.

Championships April 30 at Moorpark:
The championships are for the kids that run the fastest, jump the farthest and highest and put the shot the furthest. For each event in each age/gender group the top kids in the conference qualify for the championships. For sprints and field events the top 9 kids qualify. For the distance events (800, 1600, and 3200) the top 12 kids qualify. If there is a tie for the last slot they then look at the kids' next best mark.
Athletic.net keeps track of the top athletes for the conference:
https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Division/Top.aspx?DivID=129725

Each club gets to send 1 relay team per age/gender group for each relay (4x100 and 4x400). A relay team member need not have run on any relay or competed with the other members of any relay prior to the Championships meet.

Note that each club gets to send relay teams for EVERY age/gender group including intermediates. A relay team counts as an intermediate team if it has one intermediate member. So, a youth and intermediate age group, gets to send a youth team and an intermediate team as long as at least one intermediate athlete participates.
There is no event limit at the championships; an athlete can compete in all of the events for which they qualify.
If an athlete is unavailable/doesn't want to participate in the championships they leave that spot open they will not bring up the next fastest kid.

Co-Conference Championships May 14:
Qualification at co-conference is based on the results from the conference championships. For laned events and field events the top 5 athletes from VCYTC and the top 4 SCYTFC qualify. For non-laned running events the top 8 from each conference qualify. If an athlete is not available to participate they will take the next best athlete.
The location of the co-confernece championships is at Rio Mesa High School and will start at 9:00 a.m.

We have a successful club because of our outstanding volunteers!

There are two ways you can volunteer to cover your three-shift obligation per family for the 2022 season: full-season assignments OR signing up for three volunteer shifts.

Full-season assignments

For the following roles, volunteers will lead certain areas of the meet for each of the four home meets at NPHS. These duties require more time than working three shifts, but you will serve an important role that will help meets function timely and effectively. No prior volunteer experience needed for most of these roles.

Aside from set-up and teardown, shifts will run from either 8:00-11AM or 10:45-1:30PM (or end of meet). You are free to sign-up for more than one shift in a meet if you would like to do so.

The 2022 Season is ON

Dear NP Track Club Families,

Thank you for your patience as we have worked to secure the 2022 season. We are pleased to announce that we will have a season that will include weekly practice and meets at the NPHS track! To all of our wonderful parents who wrote letters to the administration  - THANK YOU! It worked!

We will open registration very soon - hopefully this weekend. We will allow returning families to register first, and will then open registration to new families.

We expect the season to begin January 31 or early in February, as soon as the new netting is installed at the NPHS field.

Please be on the lookout for more information regarding our parents meeting, which will occur this month.

Lastly, if you are interested in coaching this season (and we are interested in you being interested), please reach out to head coach Romana Danicova (danicova@yahoo.com).

See you soon!
