Newbury Park Track Club
REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for the 2011 Season
Spaces are limited!

Some of the highlights you need to be aware of for the 2011 season are as follows.

  • Athlete/Coach Ratios.  For safety and quality reasons, each team manager will again be setting a limit to the number of children on his/her team.  For each assistant coach that agrees to regularly help the team manager, the team enrollment will be increased.

  • Registration Fees.  Registration fee for the 2011 season will be $60.00.

  • Uniform Fee. Uniform fee the 2011 season will be $60.00.

  • Volunteer Deposit.  The volunteer deposit will be $100.00 per family for 2011.  As a reminder, the Club does not need your money-–we need you to work at the meets or in administration.  Please bring a separate check for this fee.

  • Birth Certificates.  If you are new to the club, please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate for the Club to keep.  Your child will not be able to begin practice without a birth certificate on file.  If you have already provided a copy in the past, you do not need to bring another copy.

  • Practice Schedules.  All teams may begin practice on Tuesday, February 15 and are held Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the NPHS track (unless otherwise announced by your coach).

Parent Participation.  This season, minimum parent participation will involve working 3 half-day shifts--either at our regular season home meets, Junior Varsity Finals, and/or Varsity Finals.  If you are willing and able to help at additional meets, it would be greatly appreciated.  A $100.00 refundable deposit is again being collected from each family for volunteer service.  The deposit check will be shredded at the end of the season if All of your volunteer commitments have been met.

Other Volunteer Activities.  In lieu of working at the meets, there are a number of other volunteer activities for which assistance is still needed.  We need people to serve on the Board, to serve as the Snack Shack Coordinator, and to help with managing and coaching the teams (see below for more information on coaching).

Coaches.  Additional people are needed to serve as head coaches, assistant coaches, and specialty coaches.  A specialty coach generally learns and coaches only one or two events.  Please give consideration to serving as a specialty coach as these positions can often be scheduled to work only 2 or 3 days per week.  We have successfully used MATURE teenagers over the past few years as specialty coaches, and we are willing to consider teens on a case-by-case basis.  We do have personalized training for those who do not have experience in track and field.  Please call me at the number below if you are interested in helping.  Team sizes will be based on the number of people who coach.  As with all other sports organizations, the quality of our program depends on the commitment and participation of parents and guardians.  As you plan for the upcoming season, please consider what role you can play in the Club this season.  If you can help out, please let us know immediately!
